I Am the Lord Who Heals You - Why That Name Never Expired
I'm excited to keep going in this series, because today I want to take apart one of the most common arguments against healing — that it passed away with Jesus or the apostles.
Healing Didn't Start with Jesus - So It Couldn't End with Him
Jesus only ever did the will of the Father. If healing was God the Father's will before Jesus ever arrived, and God does not change, healing can't have started with Jesus, and it can't have ended with Him either.
Claiming healing passed away with Jesus really means claiming it was only ever about Jesus — and that's simply not true. It was always about the Father's will, and Jesus showed up to do it.
Don't Eat This, Boy, It'll Kill You – a Warning, Not a Threat
“Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden, to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.’”
Genesis 2:15-17 (NKJV)
Think about what that warning actually reveals. God telling Adam what would kill him is God telling Adam He didn't want him to die. That's not a God indifferent to human life — that's a Father protecting the son He loves, the same way any parent warns a child away from something dangerous.
That will hasn't changed. The unchangeable God who didn't want man to die in the garden is not the same God who now wants you to suffer through sickness because two thousand years have passed.
I Am the Lord Who Heals You – That's How He Introduced Himself
“If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.”
Exodus 15:26 (NKJV)
Notice how God chose to identify Himself here — not simply as the one who forbids disease, but as the Lord who heals. That's the name He wanted His people to know Him by. On this side of the cross, we stand in this promise on the basis of Jesus's obedience, not our own — He diligently heeded the Father, so healing belongs to us in Him.
Not One Feeble Among Them – and Nobody Even Asked
“He also brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none feeble among His tribes.”
Psalm 105:37 (NKJV)
The Israelites came out of Egypt as slaves who'd been worked and beaten without mercy — and yet not one of them limped out on crutches or had to be carried. There's no record of anyone asking for that healing. It was simply the Father's idea, poured out because of who He is, not because anyone requested it.
That's worth sitting with. If God provided healing for an entire nation before a single person asked, it tells you something about His actual posture toward you — not reluctant, not waiting to be convinced, but already inclined toward your wholeness before you ever bring it up.
Fight To Win.
